4 days Southern Morocco tour from Ouarzazate | SuperTours-Maroc
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Roses Valley – Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges
After breakfast, you will be headed to Skoura-fertile oasis lined with immense palm groves. The Kasbah Amerhidil is one of the most famous landmarks of Skoura and is definitely worth seeing. The next destination is Kelaa M’gouna, a spot where “Festival des Roses” takes place every year in May. From here you will have the chance to see the nomads, their way of life, learn their habits and get to know their culture. You will be able to do all of this in the Atlas Mountains. However, just right when the off-road finishes and the asphalt begins you’ll see Ait Youl Kasbah and the green valley of Dades. You’ll reach Todra Gorges and the rest of the day is to appreciate the quietness of the mountains. Both the Todra and Dades Rivers have carved out cliff-sided canyons on their final 40 kilometers through the mountains. You will spend the night in an accommodation in a hotel in the middle of the gorges.
Day 2: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
Waking up in the middle of the gorges, more exactly the Todra Gorges. Today’s destination is Merzouga. However, in order to get there, you will pass through Erfoud-an oasis town in the Sahara Desert. Erfoud is a destination for filmmakers due to the beauty of the surrounding Sahara Desert and the town’s oasis areas. Moreover, because of the Merzouga desert village in the Erg Chebbi Dunes, Erfoud has become a famous tourist destination for people around the world. Erg Chebbi is one of Morocco’s two Saharan ergs, more exactly a large sea of dunes formed by the sand under influence of the wind. This area is pretty difficult to access and because of it you will do that on a camel. The camel ride starts from Erg Chebbi and it finishes in the heart of the desert, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarine – Zagora
The third day includes a trip to Rissani – the ancient capital of Tafilalet, a major commercial center in the region. From Rissani you will be taken to many other Berber villages: Alnif, Tazarine, Nkoub. The next stop is Tazarine – a commune in the Taza Province and an off-road to the Draa valley. The arrival in Zagora is in the evening.
Day 4: Zagora – Tamnougalt – Agdez – Ouarzazate
You will wake up in Zagora – a town in the Draa River valley where the Zagora Marathon and the Nomads Festival in M’Hamid take place each year. Spending your day in the Draa valley you will be able to see many natural miracles and beauties, including the Kasbahs among the Tamnougalt, the one you will stop for a visit and have lunch in the area. In order to get back to Ouarzazate, you will go through an area named “resting place”, more exactly Agdz and cross over the Anti-Atlas (a desolate world of rocky outcrops and lunar landscapes where the contrasts are extreme).
